Topic 1

Describe a time when you worked in a group

Cue Card

You should say:

  • what you did
  • who you worked with
  • how you worked together
  • and explain how you felt about it

Background 示例

So there was this time, around half a year ago, I worked in a group to prepare an English presentation. It happened at school, and I worked with three classmates. The reason why we had to do it was that our teacher wanted us to introduce a famous city in English.

Activities 范文片段

At the very beginning, we divided the task based on everyone’s strengths. I was responsible for the speaking part, while the others collected information and made slides. To be honest, I was kind of worried at first, because I had never given a presentation fully in English before. Plus, introducing a famous city sounded easy, but it actually required a lot of detailed information.

Basically, what happened next was that we started to search for information about the city, including its history, tourist attractions and local food. However, one group member missed the deadline, which really caught us off guard. Though we were on the verge of giving up, we decided to stick to it. After we held an online meeting, we adjusted the plan and rehearsed the presentation several times.

Describe a time when you had a problem with using an electronic device
